Phacil Earns CMMI Maturity Level 3

Phacil, an award winning company delivering leading technology solutions to the Federal Government, announced today that it earned a CMMI Maturity Level 3 rating for Services. The CMMI rating from Bradley Independent Consultants is one of the highest quality standards for companies worldwide. Phacil is the 22nd U.S. company that has achieved this maturity level in Services.

CMMI, or Capability Maturity Model Integration, was developed by the Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie Mellon University at the behest of the Defense Department to provide a rigorous standard of best practices for use by organizations, and is now administered by the CMMI Institute. It is a proven approach to improving performance management that guides organizational functions, setting improvement goals, and standardizing quality processes across a project, a division, or an entire organization. It is a prestigious and internationally recognized standard for benchmarking processes. CMMI benefits organizations with overall improved performance, including decreased costs, higher on-time delivery, greater productivity, and improved quality.

Phacil, having attained a Maturity Level 2 in 2012, was independently assessed at Maturity Level 3 for CMMI in Services in June 2013, which involved a series of 20 Process Areas. These include Configuration Management, Process and Product Quality Assurance, Service Delivery, Work Planning, Decision Analysis and Control, Organizational Training, and Strategic Service Management.

An independent SEI qualified appraiser performed the Class A Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) across multiple IT services at Phacil. The focus of the process was to ensure quality business operations, including continuous process improvement, a process-focused culture, efficient operations, and overall enhanced quality of the solutions provided.
