Phacil, Inc., an award-winning, ISO9001:2000 registered government contractor, announced today that it has attained ISO9001:2000 registration, an achievement attained by fewer than 10% of all 8(a) Federal Government Contractors.
Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ISO9001 is the world’s most widely observed family of standards for developing and maintaining quality management systems. DNV, a leader in standards development and third party systems registration for standards such as ISO9001, registered Phacil, Inc. to the 9001 standard.
To achieve ISO registration, Phacil staff underwent a comprehensive quality assurance process, including two audits. Under the direction of Dr. John O’Neill, Phacil’s Quality Assurance Manager, Phacil staff members created detailed documentation for nearly 40 business processes and procedures, including addressing corrective and preventative actions, fine tuning the quality assurance plan, and formalizing a customer rating survey.

Phacil is next embarking on attaining CMMI certification in 2009, which would make it one of only a few 8(a)/SDB companies in the US with both ISO9001:2000 registration and CMMI certification.
